Like em? Hate em? Dont know what they are?
They've gotta be the future if this HSE guideline for having no internal braces on working lifts comes out.
Personally, I love them for putting towers up... really quick and easy... but too cumbersome to install on long runs of scaffolding *and* bloody awkward to manually load and unload.
Hi dog, I m a new comer.
we produce readylock(easyfix) and exporting it to UK, but I don't know how to use it and where it is be used ,, could you please give me some ideas?
thanks.

It is used as a transom to connect 'standards'. the design is such that the it sits atop the ledgers in the same way as traditional 5foots with clips would do. The only drawback is that it has no inside board support, so we still need to install 5foot transoms just to support the inside board.
Been using them for a couple of months now and getting mixed feedback.
I really like them because (a) theyre so much quicker (b) theyre self leveling and (c) I dont need to measure the distance between ledgers since the bones are a fixed size.
Some of the other scaff's dont like them because they are so awkward to lug around. Also require slight change to how you plan you scaffold (ie: bones in first followed by ledgers)
Dear Dog
thank you for your reply. I know how to use it now thank you!
Hey dog :)
I used them years ago and always thought they were great. How come you don't like them on a long run? me and my old man used to fly this stuff up. Once based out i used a staff to mark off and and run all the bones in and my old fella would follow with the ledgers and sway brace - very quick.
Only downside i found with using normal 5's for intermediate transoms the boards tended to flap about a bit because the bones sat slightly higher. Don't know how the newer ones are manufactured so maybe you don't have this problem.
I started up on my own about 18 months ago on a real tight budget and have just invested in 100 of these, plan on getting a lot more. I have quite a bit of kwikstage that i'll probably flog to buy a load of these.
Welcome Patsy!! :D
I bought our first 50 'bones' back in Augst'ish last year and have used them on towers mainly... the first biggish job we did was a 100m run of 3 lifts. Quite a few ins and outs on the base out and I found the bones a bit of a pain in the arse cause I kept cocking up the measurements going around the corners... I'm used to the good old fashioned 35" measure for 4 boards :? my fault and I've got over it now hehe
But now we've been using them for a few months (and have another 200 or so in stock) base outs just fly up...
A mate of mine scaffs down in Weston and says that most of the firms down that way use Bones exclusively. Seems the exact opposite up here (Camberley, Surrey). I dont know any other firms that ARE using them.
More I use them the more I like them. They werent fast at first but I think it was just because we've never been shown how to use them "properly" and we were making it up as we went along.
just wish I had some with insideboard extensions on them...
There's deffo a knack to using them :P I have a couple of tips on how we used them that might be of help to you. We always used to turn two upside down on the floor and then add a ledger on the inside. Next add a standard either end and they can't fall over. This made it easier for basing out most of the time, especially if you were on your own. Also if you were going up 4 lifts etc place enough bones in each bay to complete the job hanging off the ledger. Just bring them up with you lift by lift, hanging them off the ledger.
I've seen the bone intermediate transom that only has the ledger fitting one end, plain the other. Worth getting a few of these i reckon if they could be sourced, dunno if they come in a 6ft flavour to accomodate an inside board.
It's strange how they never really caught on amongst all the firms nationwide. I would guess that a fear of them being damaged through bombing and initial outlay puts people off. Never seen them around here either, i'll be getting a few more when i can get the pennies together 8)
I've found some 6 board ones on ebay for sale, look brand new for
hello nick
