Any thoughts on using Plastic Scaffold boards instead of timber?
I've been looking into the composite boards as a replacement for our existing wood ones... Lighter, stronger and last 10 times longer!!!
But what should the cost be before we all start switching?
Hi Dog, iv looked at the composition of these new boards, and yes they have advantiges ovre the conventional organic timber boards ie, do not absord water thus making them lighter 4 manual handeling and resistant 2 rot,However, the composition of the boards are suspect ...they do not have the elastisity of the conventional board...this manufacturing fault rendres the board very brittle ...the composition of the board is suseptiblle to cracks ovre a comparatively short period of service...these boards require a greater degree of manual handeling i.e. with kid gloves, they do not like rough handelling... I do not wish 2 bad this product...however it is my personal view that it takes something exeptional to improve the statous quo (organic boards) beware of faulse econimies in the name of progress...one cannot improve perfection...
composite boards, mmmmmmmmm the ends of the boards are only capped, so do let in water, how heavy would these get ?
Suppose the only way to really find out is to buy a small sum of these. If they turn out to not to be any good simply don't buy again.
So who's buying first!!
